Happy Birthday!

On show 100, we say Happy Birthday, eh?

More On Cruise

I can't resist, I just can't. Tommy-Baby Cruise claims he's done the research and Lauer - who is *not* a journalist - doesn't ask the follow-up questions that must be asked. Well, I did some research: what's the story on this Cruise guy and what does an important, international professional organization of almost 36,000 doctors have to say about the ignorant showbiz pretty boy's recent comments?

Yeah, we're havin' some investigative fun.

Note: show [#99] recorded with a new program (PodProducer) and might sound a little different. Please bear with me, I like trying new things (insert jokes here). Probably back to Audacity next time.

More Yentertainment News

Ron Howard waxes philosophical on the deep, beautiful lessons we can learn from show people, get well wishes to a talented, lovely woman, a fascinating veteran of unusual aspects of the entertainment biz - a renaissance man - "called back to God's heavenly academy," and, like Cedric's The Honeymooners, this weekend's big debut flick leaves the public and Hollywood execs bewitched, bothered and bewildered.

Thanks for listening. It's good to have you with me.

Yentertainment News Cruise

Yow! There was so much friction in an NBC studio last Friday morning that it's a wonder all the hairspray these guys use didn't ignite!

So Random (#3)

Enough already with the ribbons, more on private $ector per$onality te$t$, and what would you expect from the worst city in the worst state in the nation: why of course, the worst grocery chain.

Enjoy. Tell a friend. Write or call; I'd love to hear from you!

So Random (#2)

On show #95, we learn once again that snoring can be very, very dangerous, a check of vanity license plates ("tags") spotted around town, "non-trad" female students heading back to college in big numbers, the Runaway Bride back in the news yet again, now presumably beginning the pre-promotion and "making the bed" for her new book. Sirius adds one dreadful host to its talk line-up but quickly takes a step forward indroducing many to glorious radio from London, and a brief but important salute to a very important piece of clothing.

Thanks for listening.

So Random (#1)

A very, very lucky lottery winner, Californians teach us an important lesson about the Internet...and maybe our entire society, and the folly of pre-employment testing.

Web Watchin' & I'm Thinkin' of You

Some surprising new additions to a stuffy old standard, a list of supermarket items that have something odd in common, history and pride to fight prejudice, a network that gets you stuff for free, and an online magazine that explores the possibility of life "somewhere out there." Maybe one day they'll do a feature on my bedroom!

Enjoy. Tell a friend. Feel free to email or call with comments/suggestions.

That's Yentertainment???

We all get a special feelin' when we see a mother and daughter together. In show #92, that feeling is probably disgust. Paris Hilton says she's gonna retire soon, but expects the money to keep rolling in, regardless, because she is "a brand." Meanwhile, her mom waxes philosophical for Newsweek (I don't even wanna think about other kinds of waxes she's involved in) and prepares for her new reality game show. We'll find out what one columnist thinks about the show. Also, interesting spunkulation about the Macaulay Culkin and Michael Jackson relationship.

Enjoy. Tell a friend.
Let me know if you have any ideas on how to celebrate show #100.

Media News Yupdate

A fun new Gallup poll indicates that public confidence in the media is droppin'. Big surprise there. How do other entities fare? Who's at the bottom of the confidence ladder? You'll find out on show #91, along with a few good explanations for why confidence in media is the way it is: a payola scandal brewing, Less at CBS is salting and ass-saulting his viewers, and publi$her Judy find$ a new $ucker to make a McBook out of. -M!

Hittin' the Books

In show #89, we take a look at some very interesting books due out in August, a good one already out that somehow got by me, and book biz news: fewer readers for more books published and texbook hijinks, too.

Yentertainment News 2

Remember Britney from her Mickey Mouse Club days? Her "I'm a good Christian girl from Louisiana" days? In show 87, we find still more proof that them days are gone. Also, Michael Jackson's legacy, Paris and Paris: almost like looking in a mirror, Lindsay Lohan the articulate, deep thinker on her future, comparisons to someone so similar, and her ex, Wilmer's new girlfriend. All hope isn't lost, though, as we wrap it all up with an news of a showbiz person who is smart and thoughtful and lovely and talented. We have sooo much in common, eh?

Yentertainment News 1

On show 86, Russell Crowe: anger management, ego management, or anything to promote a new flick? Another Madonna children's book, she's back in the studio trying to record something good for a change, and she's just bought a London hotel. Maybe Russell Crowe will spend a night there. I probably wouldn't, because I don't do Kabbalah...and I doubt they'd honour my AAA discount.

In the Neighbourhood

On show 85, we explore some interesting things happening in my neighbourhood (indulge me, I love the Canadian spelling), probably provoking similar thoughts about yours. New businesses, that entrepreneurial spirit poppin' up all over the place and sometimes tempting and confusing the heck out of me. Also, some observations on what possibly is the most obnoxious piece of home handyquipment ever created.

Some News

On fun show #83, what we assume will be the final chapter of the Runaway Bride story [with a surprising show of integrity and responsibility], the anniversary of D-Day, some WWII vets in the Orient who might still think the war's still on, an unlikely cathouse proprietor teaches us a vital lesson about the Social Security situation, and some more proof of just how dangerous smoking can be. Enjoy. Tell a friend.

Some More News

It's show #84, where we conclude our scan of the most interesting stories your host has found in the news: the US government gets ready to issue an apology that's just a teensy bit late in coming, Web sites spring up in hopes of introducing the shocking concept of truth to the online dating world, and a hormone that doctors have used to induce labour might also have another surprising effect. Trust me, it's a fun show. Thanks for listening!!

Web Sights

On show #82, a few of the Web sites I use most often, real finds that some may not know of. Where to go for complete weather info and no ads flashing, spinning, flying or jumpin' out at you, finding company information, movie reviews, the key to geeeeek jargon, and spirituality, learning more about others and ourselves. It's an information packed show and world...and the best place to sift through it all is at your library!
